Diversity promotion
The National Institute of Technology promotes diversity based on the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Declaration and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Action Plan.
We have also established a Diversity Promotion Office to carry out planning and initiatives.

The National Institute of Technology, in its role of developing creative and practical engineers, declares the following policy in accordance with the spirit of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The National College of Technology respects the dignity of each member and respects the dignity of each member, regardless of gender, nationality, race, ethnicity, age, disability, religious or cultural background, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other attributes. We aim to create an environment where everyone can fully demonstrate their abilities and play an active role without being discriminated against based on their personal circumstances.
We will create an environment that is inclusive of diverse members and allows them to reflect their opinions in various activities and decision-making processes. By nurturing creative and practical engineers who will create a sustainable society, we will contribute to the realization of a better social environment.

Diversity Initiatives
Our Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Action Plan sets the following goals and is implementing various measures to achieve these goals. (Excerpts from the Action Plan)
- Aiming for a female student ratio of 35% or more
- Aiming for the ratio of female faculty among all faculty hires to be 20% or more in specialized departments, and 30% or more overall
- Aiming for the ratio of women in professorial positions to be 15% or more, and the ratio of women in principals, vice principals, clerks, and administrative positions to be 18% or more
- In order to increase the employment rate of people with disabilities among faculty and staff at technical colleges, the goal is to achieve an employment rate of 3.0% or more at each technical college and at the National Institute of Technology Headquarters by the end of FY2027.

We hold contests for teams mainly consisting of female students. Female students at the college are also actively involved in activities to promote the appeal of science and engineering.

Measures to increase the number of female teachers
Based on the Act on Advancement of Measures to Support the Development of the Next Generation, the National Institute of Technology has formulated a "General Employer Action Plan" for faculty and staff regarding their work and child-rearing. In addition, we have prepared various systems to support faculty and staff in balancing their work with childbirth, child-rearing, and elderly care.

Measures to increase female employees
We provide female teacher management training with the aim of providing role models for female teachers in leadership positions and cultivating female teachers who will lead their respective colleges of technology.

The National Institute of Technology holds a competition for teams primarily consisting of female students.
College of Technology Girls SDGs x Technology Contest
We hold forums where female students from technical colleges can share their experiences in their own words, with the main purpose of providing career education.
We have set up a website that lists the employment destinations and career paths of our alumni in the form of a profile book, and where students can discover role models through notes of their interactions with the alumni.
