From a technical college! “Society 5.0 future technology human resources” training project (GEAR 5.0/COMPASS 5.0)

Starting from 2, a technical college will lead the way in future technology realized by Society 5.0! We are proceeding with a project to develop "Society 5.0 future technology human resources". This consists of two projects: GEAR 5.0 (advanced education for social implementation of future technologies) and COMPASS 5.0 (curriculum for next-generation fundamental technology education). Through these projects, we will autonomously and proactively tackle various regional and social issues based on the changes in the social and economic structure realized by Society 5.0, the advancement of technology, and changes in the needs of society, industry, and regions. We will conduct curriculum inspections (educational content and methods) to continuously develop students who continue to learn, and will lead to quality assurance of technical college education in the Society 5.0 era.

GEAR 5.0 (Advanced education for social implementation of future technologies)

　GEAR 5.0 (Advanced education for social implementation of future technologies) takes advantage of the characteristics of traditional technical colleges such as community-based, problem-solving, and social implementation, while also providing education for all national technical colleges, a wide range of companies, local governments, universities, etc. Under the system of collaboration with Japan as a nationwide "plane" (foundation), we will build a new human resource development model that makes full use of economies of scale and the resources of all national technical colleges, and collaborate widely with companies, local governments, universities, etc. We are making qualitative changes in human resource development that only a technical college can do, such as effective human resource development that incorporates the user's perspective. For themes (social issues) that cannot be solved by a single academic field alone, we will develop practical human resources development programs that will lead to problem-solving through approaches that make use of knowledge from various fields.
