The first patent was granted for the "Project to Discover Brilliant Inventions by Expert Patent Attorneys"
Based on the "Agreement on Cooperation for Improving Intellectual Property Education and Utilizing Intellectual Property" concluded with the Japan Patent Attorneys Association, the National Institute of Technology and the Intellectual Property Support Center of the Japan Patent Attorneys Association have been carrying out a trial period since fiscal year 1 under the "Project to Discover Brilliant Inventions by Distinguished Patent Attorneys." The first patent case was granted in March 7.
The purpose of this project is to allow students to learn that inventions are discovered from ideas and technologies born while competing in contests, and to gain valuable experience and knowledge for social implementation. Aspiring patent attorneys will select inventions with the potential to be patented from among the works submitted in various contests for college students, and will support the students until they obtain the patent rights.
The first patent of this project is "Research on Beamforming Using Magnetic Loop Antennas" by the team "Cryptochrome 1" from Tokuyama National College of Technology, which won the top prize at the "National College of Technology Wireless Tech Contest 2023." A patent attorney discovered the invention through interviews with students and filed a patent application, which was granted just five months after the application (Patent No. 4).
We hope to continue to discover excellent inventions through this project and support the acquisition of patent rights, leading to the granting of second and third patents, promoting technological innovation, and contributing to society.
