[KOSEN] "Semiconductor Human Resource Development Ecosystem Concept" realized by 51 national technical colleges nationwide ~ A network of 51 schools nationwide has been launched, aiming for a future where core human resources who can support a changing era can be continuously produced ~

The National Institute of Technology (NITC), an independent administrative institution (Headquarters: Hachioji, Tokyo; Chairman: Isao Taniguchi; hereinafter referred to as "NITC"), is pleased to announce that it will fully launch the "Semiconductor Human Resources Development Ecosystem Initiative" utilizing its network of 51 national NITC schools nationwide in response to the growing social issue of a shortage of semiconductor human resources.
 This initiative is part of the semiconductor human resource development initiative that the National Institute of Technology has been promoting. It involves developing educational packages in Kyushu and Hokkaido, improving the environment for educational practice, and moving into the full-scale implementation stage as a system for nationwide expansion is being put in place.

 Semiconductors are the foundation of all technology and the key to strengthening Japan's industrial competitiveness. The National Institute of Technology (NIT) declares its commitment to building a nationwide human resource development ecosystem in this important field. We will overcome the human resource shortage crisis through collaboration between NIT and industry, and contribute to the revival and development of Japan's semiconductor industry.

 National colleges of technology are a rare educational institution in the world that provide a five-year education (seven years if you include the specialized course) from the age of 15 to 20 (age 22 for the specialized course) that fuses theory and practice to a high degree. By making the most of this unique educational system and the network of national colleges of technology that are based in close ties with the local communities across the country, we will build a system that will "continuously" produce core human resources who possess the "ready-to-work, application skills, and innovation capabilities" that the semiconductor industry demands.
 This release explains the overall vision that the college is aiming for in its series of semiconductor human resource development projects, and also introduces cutting-edge initiatives that have already been launched in various locations.
