1. Introduction

I am a Vietnamese student. I was a second-year student in Vietnam. In 1999, I got a Japanese government scholarship to study in Gunma KOSEN.

2. About My Study

After one year of Japanese course, I transferred to third-year class in the field of material science. After I finished my course in Gunma college, I transferred to third-year of the bachelor course at Osaka University in the field of Electrical Material Science. I received my Master’s diploma here and will start working at the Micron Japan Company of the American Micron Technology Group.

3. The Deciding Factor for Joining the School

When I was high school, I wished to learn abroad to have the chance to research about material science. It was very difficult to have the experience for real study.

I had a chance to choose Japan or Russia after my first year of university. At that time in 1999, I chose Japan because in I thought that there were much better conditions for study and research with my favorite field.

4. About my student life

In the advanced part of the Japanese course, they teach us about study similar to college to make us gain a lot of vocabulary. That was very helpful for me when I entered college. In college, we have 50% time to study by experience. In the third-year, you will have a chance to experience other fields like materials or biology to ensure your choice for the field in the fourth-year. In the fourth-year, you will study knowledge similar to the second and third year in a regular science university.

Graduation research is required in the last year. I spent all my study time for my research in my last year. Also, I am seriously preparing for my examination for transfer to university.

Beside study, I enjoy the Judo club in college with classmates. Also, at the annual dormitory festival, we make our countrys’ favorite foods for sale with other Japanese students. It is always very interesting. By communication with Japanese classmates and neighboring volunteers, I have learned a lot about Japanese culture and enjoy life here so much.

5. For the International Students

Every first step is difficult, but after overcoming the first step, you will learn how to overcome the next one, because you will then have the confidence to do it.
